Fire Up the Ol Kindle...

In the US, you can find the e-book here.

In the UK, click right here.

Mr. Bezos will help everyone else around the world at their local Amazon website.

(Also, you don't need a Kindle to read an e-book - try your phone or iPad with the kindle app).

Cheers.

What Is Quarter Sessions?

It's the great country house where our hero, young Miles McTavish of Dallas, Texas, finds himself employed as an under-footman while trying to discover the identity of "a girl born out of her time" and a "secret that was not meant to be." There's a whole blog post down below with many irresistibly tantalizing details.

Excellent Women

I am a recent arrival to Pym's work. I don't know how I could have missed her for so long as she writes the way that I like and about things and people that interest me. I'm glad that a recent New Yorker article about her fans sent me ...

This is by way of a public service. I stumbled over several references recently to this book and decided to hunt it down. "Hunt" is the right word, though of course that's not so hard these days. It seems to have gone out of print in ...

Quarter Sessions Reading List

The Bookosphere Speaks

"A book to be savored..." At the Tea Time Reader: "I had a great time reading this novel and enjoying the story"And in the Garden: "The groundwork must be built on details that are true. The reader must believe, and this reader absolutely believed in Up, Back, and Away." And then, there's the Hill Farm.... It's a love-in chez the Literary Aficinado.

A Real Person, Born Out of His Time

I heard this interview with artist David McDermott on the wonderful Radiolab. McDermott lives in Dublin as though he were still in the 1920s. Those with a nostalgia for a place they haven't known (or a time)might particularly enjoy this.
